If I were an angel...

This is yet another one of those undated songs from the mid 90's. My best guess is that this song was written during that huge burst in late 1996/early 1997 that produced so many other songs. This song is one of my less conventional outings in that I don't do the usual V-C-V-C-V structure here, it's more like A A B A A B' A A where the A's and B's are all different verses (i.e., there is no chorus). This is also one of my first attempts to restrict my melody lines to something that was actually within my vocal range, with mixed results (I frankly think it's somewhat boring).

I think there was two reasons I set this aside for all those years -- 1) I really wanted to concentrate on more formal V-C-V-C-V and decided that this song was not finished and would be finished only when I'd come up with a good C (chorus) and good bridge from verse to chorus, and 2) it is really the same song as one of my other songs, except it's not (I'll let you figure out which song it's the same as).

The version here is probably from late 1997 (I have a couple of different versions). There was another verse B" at the end, however, I decided it did not add anything to the song and chopped it for this recording.
