![]() June 1, 1998: Back from LinuxExpo. Boy, 2,000 miles in 3 days knocks the stuffing out of me. I've put epsonps online for the guy who wanted to possibly use it as a filter (that's what I use it for in the E.C. print system). May 25, 1998: On my way to Durham NC, falalala, lala, la, la. Going to see the king of Linux, falalalala, lala, la, la. Leaving here on Thursday Evening for LinuxExpo. (No "gay apparel" involved, I'll leave that to a former employee here who now works for a school system and who sometimes wanders by looking for his boyfriend...). May 17, 1998: I put this web site online and announce that I am looking for employment. May 14, 1998: PAMS user group meeting. I do a presentation on cume labels (cumelative grade records for student folders) and on state SIS audits and transmission procedures. May 12, 1998: My birthday! May 12, 1998: The telephone installation guy comes by to finish installing our line. He tries it, finds it's dead, and calls back to the office to tell them to hook the wires up at the other end :-}. Once he has tested the line I point my gateway at the Bay Networks ISDN router that I had already configured to demand-dial our ISP and I ping a machine on the Internet. My router monitor shows it connecting and logging in, and voila! We now are on the Internet at ISDN speeds, first try! May 11, 1998: The ISDN line ordered close to a month ago is finally installed. Only one problem: It's dead as a doornail :-(. |
