My Evil Twin Strikes AgainHere is the latest exploit of my evil twin, who appears to have followed me to Phoenix (sigh). Needless to say, I've had the same checking account since I moved to Phoenix, so I couldn't pass a bad check due to an account being closed, but what the hey, they just pick the first Eric Green out of the phone book and mail this notice to him, eh? BTW, here is the list of Eric Greens in the Phoenix area, as reported by uswestdex.com:
Please read the note after the picture... it's scary stuff!
[picture of Telecheck notice deleted]The biggest threat to liberty is no longer government. Please note the "120,000 banks and merchants" blurb. Basically, these people have carte blanche to ruin the life of anybody who crosses them. Sure, you can sue them for slander and defamation of character -- maybe. If they qualify as a credit reporting agency, they are not held liable for the slanders they propogate. Forget the black helicopters. What I'm scared of is Esperion and Telecheck. These people hold more power than the U.S. government and the state and local governments combined. The Constitution requires state and local governments to follow due process. Esperion and Telecheck don't need to follow due process, though -- they have the power to ruin your life at any time, based on little more than innuendo -- and they have managed to slam through laws insuring that they have no liability for slanders that they propogate, even when informed that the information is incorrect.
