When did we become a nation of cowards?I guess the reason why this war disturbs me is because of where I came from -- Louisiana. It's an old-fashioned state, where the majority of the people still live by the old code of conduct, the code that says only bullies start fights, a real man ends a fight using all force necessary if a bully starts one but never starts a fight himself. In the city I grew up in, a man was a man and didn't throw the first punch. Sure, he might get his nose bloodied by that first punch, but that was part of being a man. It appears that there isn't a helluva lot of MEN left in the United States, just a bunch of sissyfied pussy-wimps who whine"oh gosh if we don't hit Iraq first they might hit us first and give us a bloody nose!" Nobody argues that Iraq has, or ever will have, the ability to destroy the United States. Hell, their longest-ranged missile won't even reach the Atlantic Ocean, much less go over it. No, we gotta throw the first punch 'cause we're afraid they might AT SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE kill a few Americans with terrorism.
I am saddened, sickened, and disgusted by the cowardance and ethical bankruptcy of the boomer generation that is running this country, and the way the sheeple of this country have let themselves be terrified into throwing the first punch. We are a nation of cowards, and we deserve whatever wrath God and the world at
large shall deal out for our sins.
